—Interactions between Haikou Maritime Court and the First Foreign-related Civil and Commercial Tribunal of Hainan in the theme of “I Work Hard with the Free Trade Port”
To celebrate the 99th birthday of the Communist Party of China and to enhance young judges’ ability to unite and innovate as well as a sense of responsibility and commitment, Haikou Maritime Court and the First Foreign-related Civil and Commercial Tribunal of Hainan arranged an exchange event for young judges on the afternoon of July 2 in the theme of “I Work Hard with the Free Trade Port”.
Judges from the maritime court showed visitors around their new litigation service center and courtrooms and other facilities and introduced the court’s measures taken to serve the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port, to show the new changes and new look of the maritime court.
The hosts and guests held a talk at the reading corner to share their ideas. The discussion covered a variety of topics, such as developing a sense of overall situation, strengthening a sense of responsibility and enhancing professional skills, to explore and contribute to the construction of the free trade port; setting up case filing windows to serve foreigners, enhancing the agents’ English communication skills, and preparing element-style English litigation service guide for foreigners; arranging exchange activity on foreign-related trials and introducing rotating legal English classroom to enhance judges’ ability to deal with foreign-related cases; improving judicial assistance for the service of court documents abroad and introducing service by notarization to address the problem of difficult service abroad; and streamlining the trial process for foreign-related case, exploring new ways for the acceptance and enforcement of foreign judgments and settlements by Hainan courts, and introducing innovative process for the trial of foreign-related cases. The pleasant talk was brimming with vigorous and harmonious spirits of the young.
2020 marked the 99th anniversary of the CPC and was the first year for the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port. Haikou Maritime Court also celebrated its 30th birthday in the year. The captioned event was among a series of Party building activities held by the court, which provided an opportunity for the young judges from the two courts to share ideas. Judges remarked that through the event they had had deeper understanding of their roles to play in serving the construction of the free trade port with high-quality and high-standard services, and they also vowed to seize the day and make concrete efforts to make greater contribution to the construction of the free trade port.
