On 26 June, the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Communist Youth League Committee of Haikou Maritime organized a trip to Baoban Village, Wanchong Town, Ledong Li Autonomous County for drug preventive promotion. Wang Yong, deputy president of the provincial committee of CPPCC who was in the neighborhood for another event, viewed the anti-drug exhibition boards.

The promotional staff put up anti-drug slogans and displayed anti-drug exhibition boards with vivid illustrations. They showed the villagers the origin of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the concepts and types of illicit drugs, and laws and regulations against illicit drugs. They helped the villagers understand the harm posed by illicit drugs and urged them to reject illicit drug use, keep healthy and positive lifestyles, and take active part in campaigns against illicit drugs. The villagers were urged to contribute to the publicity of anti-drug policies and have the courage to report any drug user and dealer. This would create a positive climate in which the whole community were against illicit drugs. During this activity, 200 some anti-drug publicity materials were donated to the village.
