On the afternoon of 15 April 2019, the third National Security Education Day of China, Haikou Maritime Court organized a legal awareness promotion activity in Xin’an Community, Haidian Sub-district, Meilan District. The purpose of the activity was to further promote the public awareness of national security and create a climate for collective contribution to duly maintaining national security.

The officers dispatched for the activity put up banners, set up a promotion stand and distributed legal publicity materials. Through these means they helped the community and passersby understand the functions of state organs in counterintelligence and protection of national secrets, the obligations and legal liability of citizens and social organizations in protecting national security, and national campaigns against crimes in recent years.

The officers also introduced the efforts made by Haikou Maritime Court in safeguarding the blue state territory in order to raise the public’s awareness of national security, so that they would make common efforts to actively protect national security and social stability in the building of Hainan pilot free trade zone.

Throughout the activity, officers from Haikou Maritime Court distributed a total of 210 some publicity materials, including Knowledge of National Security, Law of the People's Republic of China on Guarding State Secrets, Counter-Espionage Law of the People's Republic of China, and Q&As about Campaigns against Crimes. Replies were given to 20 some legal inquiries made by the audience. The activity was well received and made good social impacts.
