On 5 September 2018, Xu Yahui, secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and president of Haikou Maritime Court, made a trip to Lingshui Li Autonomy County to visit Chen Piao, NPC representative, general Party branch secretary and village committee director of Muba Village of Yingzhou County. The purpose of the visit was to listen to the representative’s opinions about and advice for the court’s work. Accompanying was Gai Man, secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and president of Lingshui Court.

Xu Yahui expressed heartfelt appreciation of Chen Piao’s understanding, support and care for the court’s work. He outlined for the representative the efforts made by maritime courts in guarding the country’s southern gate, supporting the building of a free trade zone (port) in Hainan, earnestly promoting the basic resolution of difficulties in enforcement, alleviating poverty in certain areas, improving Party conduct and corruption prevention, and promoting infrastructure development. He also highlighted the establishment of offshore circuit courts and island tribunals, as well as the building of an international trial team. In addition, he attentively listened to and recorded Chen Piao’s advice for and opinions about the court’s work, and answered relevant questions.

Chen Piao thanked Xu Yahui for taking the initiative to contact NPC representatives and fully recognized the work done by the maritime court. He expressed the wish to keep in closer contact with the court and follow through the development in maritime trials. He would also continue to closely supervise the court’s work and give feedback on behalf of the people in a timely manner.
