Campaign to Promote Legal Awareness on "12.4" Constitution Day

Observing the requirements set out in the 2016 National Constitution Day Activities Plan, the Youth League Committee of our court organized a campaign to promote legal awareness on the morning of 4 December 2016, the Constitution Day. The event took place in the headquarters and was participated by young judges, court staff, and judicial personnel of the court.

Efforts were made to facilitate the event. First, publicity materials were in place. In addition to purchasing copies of the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China, we had also compiled and printed leaflets about the origin and significance of the Constitution, risks of illegal drugs, as well as forms and charges of drug-related crimes. We also presented publicity on maritime law enforcement practices, which demonstrated our distinguishing features, and guidance on litigation. Second, a satisfying attendance were ensured. Participants were divided into a logistics support team, material gathering team, and consultation and promotion team. All three teams diligently fulfilled their tasks and contributed to the event. The logistics support team was responsible for making banners, setting up desks and chairs, photography and publicity; the material gathering team was in charge of ordering copies of the Constitution and printing leaflets. The consultation and promotion team was responsible for promoting the public’s legal awareness and China’s ideology of the rule of law, as well as answering judicial inquiries made by the public.

A total of 50 copies of the Constitution and over 320 leaflets against drugs and about maritime law enforcement were distributed throughout the campaign.
